BF6 Players Agree: Tasks Are Excessively Difficult
The release of the highly anticipated Battlefield 6 was met with significant enthusiasm, notably for its top-tier multiplayer mode. On Steam alone, simultaneous player numbers surged to nearly 750,000. Nevertheless, regardless of its fanfare, a growing number of players are protesting against a portion of the release's hardest challenges, which are mandatory to obtain particular firearms.
Players have started resorting to custom matches made via Battlefield Portal to finish these tasks, underscoring just how demanding these missions have become.
Understanding Battlefield 6 Objectives
Missions serve as Battlefield 6's permanent multiplayer tasks, different from the periodically changed everyday and weekly missions. There are four types of assignments, but where most simply offer skins and a few gadgets, finishing the gun missions is the sole method of getting 12 of the 41 primary weapons available in the game.
Some of these locked weapons may soon make their appearance on lists of the top weapons in Battlefield 6.
Player Outcry on Reddit
Over on Reddit, players are justifiably expressing their worries about how difficult and grindy some of these challenges are. An individual player emphasized one of the most egregious examples, mandatory for acquiring the KTS100 MK8 LMG:
- Subdue 300 opponents with LMGs
- Cause 10,000 non-ADS damage with LMGs
"This challenge is so awful and totally unreasonable, I want to tear my hair out," is a comment that illustrates just how frustratingly difficult these tasks are.
Suppression in Battlefield is more diminished than before in the series, so it has significantly fewer positive effects in fights as it had in previous games. It only registers as suppression if you miss multiple shots in a row.
Meanwhile, using an LMG from the hip is highly imprecise and is effective only at extremely close range, which is not usually a position you prefer to be. The same user also highlighted the irony in the SMG challenge, required for the SCW-10, which needs takedowns using ADS, when that challenge would be far more appropriate to hipfire kills, and vice versa.
Another Overly Demanding Task
A different forum member highlighted an additional excessively hard challenge, within the marksman rifle class to access the PSR:
- Get 150 headshot kills from more than 200 meters away with long-range weapons
This is tough enough on its own, but there's an additional crucial factor to consider: the majority of Battlefield 6 maps don't even support combat at that kind of range.
There is a decent selection of map sizes, but because there are just nine maps in the game currently, it implies you must stick to playing a specific urban map, another expansive area, and possibly an additional option if you're lucky if you plan to engage from afar from a significant distance.
The Workaround
Nevertheless, a method exists: the custom game tool. This portal feature is a system that permits you to create personalized matches on whatever map you choose, complete with bots. This implies you can cheese the system… but it isn't truly in line with the spirit of the game.
However, when doing the challenges in a standard match appears to work against fun, since you are forced to participate in such an unorthodox manner that doesn't benefit you or your team, who can fault a player for grinding them out in a personal session so teammates aren't hindered?
Future Adjustments
It won't come as a surprise if a number of these missions are adjusted to be less difficult in the coming days or weeks, because should they remain unchanged, a portion of the user base simply will never acquire the locked firearms.
Currently, the community continues to express their views on these demanding battlefield assignments, anticipating a fairer gaming experience in future updates.
