Two Men Charged with Jail Killing of Former Lostprophets Frontman Ian Watkins

Two men have been formally charged with murder after the death in prison of former Lostprophets singer and convicted child sex offender Ian Watkins.

Samuel Dodsworth, 43, and Rashid Gedel, 25 now face murder accusations and are set to face Leeds magistrates’ court on Monday morning, as stated by investigating officers.

Watkins, 48, was in the midst of a 29-year prison term at HMP Wakefield, plus an additional six years on license, after confessing to numerous sex crimes which included the attempted rape of a baby.

Watkins was taken into custody following a narcotics search warrant at his Pontypridd home on 21 September 2012, when a significant quantity of computers, mobile phones and data storage units were seized.
